NYFF Review: ‘Barbara’

Here’s a great roundup of recent reviews of Christian Petzold‘s new film “Barbara” starring the magnificent Nina Hoss as a doctor banished to East Germany for attempting to leave the country. Tensions abound as she tries to fit into her surroundings without being able to trust anyone around her.

The film was warmly received when it made it’s world premiere back in February at the Berlinale. Petzold’s last film was “Beats Being Dead” one of the three films in the Dreileben triology from 2011 which has still not seen a wide release in the U.S.

Hopefully “Barbara” can make a Denver appearance at SDFF35.

Nina Hoss is amazing BTW.
